Not one, but two GEDORE screwdrivers are to receive the Red Dot Design Award 2015 for excellent design. The 3K screwdriver with impact flap for slotted head screws and the VDE SLIM DRIVE screwdriver are winners on account of their high level of design quality.

This year, GEDORE is receiving the design award for excellent quality in design for the second time – and for two products: the 3K screwdriver with impact flap for slotted head screws, and for the SLIM DRIVE VDE screwdriver. Award-winning ergonomic design

Both screwdrivers appealed to the 38-strong international panel of experts of this, the most important competition for product design, for their excellent design and independent lines. The 3K screwdrivers for slotted head screws have the 3-component Power Grip with impact flap. The ergonomically designed handle guarantees accurate, fatigue-free working. The positive fit of the connection between handle and blade ensures the optimum transfer of power, and makes it easier to tighten and loosen very stiff screws.

The second award-winning product, the compact SLIM DRIVE VDE screwdrivers, also have the ergonomic 3-component handle for precise, enduring and effort-saving work. Thanks to the ultra-small blade diameters, you can even reach deep down screws in screw shafts. Which makes them ideal for use in narrow building spaces. An award that drives us on.

The Red Dot Design Award, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2015, is regarded internationally as one of the most renowned awards for excellence in design. Almost 5000 products from 56 countries were submitted for this year's competition for the highly-coveted prizes. It was given for designs that delight with their quality and innovations, and that clearly distinguish themselves from comparable products. "One again, the intensive work that we invest not only in the quality and durability of our products, but also in their innovation and ergonomics, has been rewarded," emphasises Björn Spahlinger, Director of Product Management at GEDORE. "We are delighted to receive the Red Dot Design Award, and see the prize as the motivation for future trail-blazing product developments and continuous optimisations."

The official presentation will take place on 29 June 2015 at a gala event with more than 1200 guests at the Aalto Theatre in Essen in Germany. Afterwards, the award-winning products will spend four weeks on display in the special exhibition "Design on Stage" at the Red Dot Design Museum, Zeche Zollverein in Essen/Germany.
