GEDORE universal cordless railway torque wrench LDB-10

Saves costs thanks to exemption from the verification check

January 2017

The ultra-precise universal cordless railway torque wrench LDB-10 for one-man use operates entirely without errors, and now makes track joining even more efficient.

Vaihingen/Enz, January 2017 – As a general rule, any bolting involving train tracks has to be documented and random tested. As one of the first tools for the assembly and maintenance of track systems, the universal cordless railway torque wrench LDB-10 by GEDORE Torque Solutions is now exempt from the 1-percent verification check.

This helps user companies to achieve significant savings of resources and costs: the price advantage is € 132 per km of track based on the assumption that there are 66 screws to check along this section. This means that the "railway torque wrench" at € 12,700 will have paid for itself after only 96 km of track bolting. "Thanks to a software upgrade, the precision railway torque wrench uses the new version V00040067 entirely without errors, as was confirmed in the acceptance test at the end of November 2016 carried out at the Bahnbaugruppe in Augsburg," explains Tobias Behr, Head of Development at GEDORE Torque Solutions. "As per Guideline Ril 824-5050Z01, it automatically provides a complete, tamper-proof acceptance report that can be used for the documentation of the bolt connections."

One-man operation, high-performance cordless performance, maximum precision

In addition to the measurable cost savings, this innovative railway torque wrench for a torque range of 150 to 1100 N·m also offers maintenance and repair companies a wide range of other advantages. Weighing a mere 17.2 kg, it can easily be carried and operated by one person. Thanks to the high-performance cordless operation, the torque wrench operates at up to 160 rpm – and does so extremely quietly and without emissions. The LDB is suitable for any superstructure form. Variable handles facilitate both horizontal and vertical bolting. The highly precise function reliably prevents damage to concrete sleepers.

Software update and accessories at a special price

Companies that are already using the LDB-10 will receive an update to the new software version including an inductive data transfer cable and the LB.TRACK module for reading the acceptance report, at a one-off special price of € 500 (DB agreement ref. 1000 / 540 / 92221895). "As this offer ends on 31 March 2017, we advise booking an update appointment as quickly as possible," advises Nicole Gsenger of GEDORE Torque Solutions.
