Requirements

School-leaving qualification:
university entrance qualification ("Fachhochschulreife") as a minimum

Level of education:
An in-depth knowledge of the following school subjects provides the requirements for successful training:

  • Physics
  • Metalwork/technical matters
  • Mathematics
  • Computer science
  • English

Inclinations and interests:

  • Interest in electrical engineering, electronics, data processing and computer science (installing control software for systems, optimising programs)
  • A leaning towards dealing with technical equipment, machinery and systems (e.g. control engineering equipment, drives, machine tools, welding equipment)
  • A leaning towards manual technical work (assembly of systems and components into functionally viable units, servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment)
  • A leaning towards a systematic approach to thinking and proceeding well-planned in advance (planning and preparing job assignments based on technical documents)
  • A leaning towards work of the inspecting and checking variety (examining mechatronic systems with electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment, diagnosing faults and trouble)
  • Preference for dealing with metal and an inclination towards customer-oriented work ( instructing customers in how to handle equipment)
