Industrial mechanic, higher education degree in Maintenance machinery and equipment construction

Training period 3½ years

Depending on your area of activity, you will be responsible for setting up and servicing our machinery and equipment.

 

Field of activity
  • You establish any malfunctions in machinery, put right mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults and replace defective parts. You manufacture needed components yourself or you work on them by, for instance, tapping threads or producing spare parts yourself.
  • Making use of work plans, you mount components into sub-assemblies
  • You inspect equipment which has been constructed as to its function and commission it
  • Moreover, you are available when our company equipment & plant needs to be refurbished and/or extended.
  • You are aware of the maintenance-intensive parts of the machinery and you replace components as a routine matter to stop any trouble arising
  • You respond to machines not operating properly by repairing any worn components and carrying out a general overhaul. Modern technologies involving CNC as well as pneumatic and hydraulic connections are vitally important here.

Requirements

School-leaving qualification:
advanced technical college certificate ("Fachoberschulreife") as a minimum

Level of education:
An in-depth knowledge of the following school subjects provides the requirements for successful training:

  • Physics
  • Metalwork/technical matters
  • Mathematics
  • Computer science

Inclinations and interests:

  • Interest in technical aspects
  • A leaning towards handling technical equipment, machinery and systems
  • A leaning towards actual physical work (e.g. carrying heavy workpieces)
  • A leaning towards manual technical activities
