Dealing with merchandise from incoming acceptance through to delivery is a task requiring both concentration and reliability As a qualified stockist you are involved in the responsibility for these paths.

Field of activity
  • You receive products from production as well as other incoming merchandise. You sort and store them as to type and environmental compatibility and you direct them to where they are subsequently needed in the company.
  • For outgoing merchandise you pack the products properly so that they arrive in good condition at the customer's, you complete the forwarding papers and assemble loading units
  • Using merchandise management software, you electronically record all the incoming and outgoing merchandise on a daily basis.
  • In addition, you will regularly check on inventories and complete steps to manage them
  • In your work you operate various items of transportation and transfer equipment
  • You will be trained as a highly qualified specialist for up-to-date warehouse organisations

Requirements

School-leaving qualification:
secondary school as a minimum

Level of education:
An in-depth knowledge of the following school subjects provides the requirements for successful training:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Data processing technology

Inclinations and interests:

  • A leaning towards practical, hands-on work (e.g. loading goods on trucks and unloading deliveries)
  • A leaning towards dealing with technical equipment, machinery and systems (different shelf loading/unloading vehicles, automatic forwarding and sorting systems, documenting storage using special storage management programmes)
  • A leaning towards order-based and systemising activities (e.g. placing goods in an appropriate and proper fashion on shelves, compiling deliveries for shipment)
